5 The salmon was generous and exquisitely well cooked. So was the spaghetti bolognaise. Within the €14.99 fixed menu, you can choose your desert and there is a choice of wine plus a coffee. It's in a good central place and the guys working here are not pushy but are cheerful and chatty and seem like they really love this job and their customers. Our second visit in 2 days and we'll be back tomorrow !!
5 We had a wonderful lunch at Taberna do Castelo. The grilled fish was very fresh and perfectly cooked, and the dessert was delicious. Everything tasted homemade and authentic. The atmosphere is cozy and local, and the staff were very kind. Great quality food at a good price, highly recommended if you are in the area
5 Fantastic restaurant. Quality is really good, portions are generous and the owner is really welcoming and joyful. Highlight : octopus grilled as Well as rice octopus. The mixed platter and the shrimps aglio is tasty and nicely presented. We spent a Great time. Highly highly recommended.
5 Possibly the best fish and octopus we've had in 7 days in Portugal, and we've been eating nothing but seafood all week! Incredibly fresh taste and perfectly cooked. Staff were really friendly and helpful. And the outdoor view is amazing.
5 What an incredible meal. Stopped hear after our walking tour ended and we were headed back down. The food was amazing and so fresh. Extra points for the waiter telling us before hand that the sardines were frozen and he himself didn't like frozen fish. A shrimp appetizer, spaghetti dinner for our 6 year old, three entrees (octopus, huge salmon and whole sea bream) a fanta and 2 bottles of wine for around 115 euros....
5 Such a great experience! The vibes, the food and the service, everything was just exceptional! Will definitely come back. Special thanks to Rafi for being so nice and welcoming!
5 Food was excellent at a reasonable price. Loved our grilled Sea Bream and Squid Ink Spaghetti with Prawns. Outdoor seating was also very pleasant when the weather is nice. The young boy serving us was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
5 The chef made Bacalhau à Brás especially for me, and it was stellar! Funny story is that À Brás wasn't even on the menu, but as I mentioned I was specifically looking for a killer À Brás whilst in Lisbon, the chef made it special for me, and it was scrumptious, fresh ingredients, amazing taste, not dry. Really well done. The ambience was fantastic, far off the tourist beaten path, tight streets, old style eléctricos going by, wonky cobbled streets, greenery and old buildings. The price was just right at €15 for the meal, drink (I highly recommend the house red), dessert, and bica (coffee). I' would have loved for more dessert variety like chocolat mousse, sweet rice, baba de camelo, or pudim de claras em castelo, but it definitely doesn't deterr from the overall experience. Highly recommend if you find yourself atop of this Lisbon hill Signed: A genuine Portuguese Lisboeta born and raised here.
Many guests recommend the grilled octopus, fresh fish, and generous salmon portions. The fixed menu with dessert, wine, and coffee is also a popular choice.
